PDF: Slow Rendering in Linux

GTK-based or QT-based PDF readers are terribly slow when rendering graphic files in linux-based distros. Here is a solution how to deal with it…

To be more specific, Evince, when not “segfaulting”, is terribly slow when opening PDF files in Archlinux. Okular performes similar performance attributes. The solution is pretty straightforward.

Install:

yaourt -S aur/okular-backend-mupdf

And enjoy the PDF reader speed as expected…
